About Troy
Welcome to a space where embracing your present emotional experiences leads to deep personal growth and transformation. I believe that when our emotions are neglected, we can feel unseen, insecure, and alone. My goal is to create a grounded, safe environment where you can explore these feelings with intention.
I draw from Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), parts and somatic approaches, and trauma-informed neuro-affirming practices. I believe the way we respond to stress is often rooted in early relationship experiences. I also integrate Internal Family Systems (IFS), attachment theory, and mindfulness-based approaches to support healing.
I hold an MA in Counseling Psychology from the University of St. Thomas. Clinically, I work with issues related to men’s mental health, career stress, grief and loss, self-esteem, depression, anxiety, relationships, boundaries, sexuality, and trauma. I am also passionate about supporting neurodiverse clients.
Before becoming a therapist, I spent 20 years in information technology and business, helping me understand diverse perspectives and workplace challenges.
Beyond therapy, I enjoy nature, travel, fantasy and sci-fi literature, gaming, and anime. I love integrating client interests into sessions to make the therapeutic space more meaningful and engaging.
Note: Troy operates independently and is not employed by the Authentic Roots group.
