About Amanda
I have tattoos and piercings, and I love the outdoors—camping, paddle boarding, hiking, and reading. I’m a proud women’s advocate, working to deconstruct the patriarchy in both my life and my daughter’s life. I swear (and can tone it down if needed!), and I prioritize my own mental health so I can better support you.
As a therapist, my goal is to give you the space, time, and support to navigate the challenges you may be facing. I work to help you find your inner empowerment as you move through difficult moments.
My style is gentle yet direct when needed. I use a strength-based, person-centered approach, integrating mindfulness, experiential techniques, and cognitive behavioral strategies. I am specifically trained in DBT, sand tray therapy, and Maternal Mental Health. When working with families, couples, or children/adolescents, I focus on helping them communicate more effectively and work together with intention and compassion.
I identify as a trans-affirming therapist and actively pursue ongoing training and personal work to stay aware of my own cisgender experiences, ensuring I show up in the most supportive way for the trans community. I love working with couples navigating communication issues, attachment wounds, and poly/ENM relationships.
I am passionate about helping clients cultivate self-awareness, self-love, and the ability to live a healthier, happier, more fulfilled life.
Note: Amanda operates independently and is not employed by the Authentic Roots group.
