About Rachel
We are all constantly surrounded by systems, big and small, that affect us every single day. It can be hard to look around and figure out what our part inside those systems are and what we can do to be who we want to be. That’s especially true when the systems feel like they are working against us. We humans are social creatures, and we feel best when we feel understood and believed in. Therapy can be a space to help feel understood and figure out the next steps to take to be who you want to be. Or who your family wants to be.
I approach therapy as a collaborative space all about respect and realistic expectations- if something’s too big, we will find a way to break it down. Everyone has a different journey they are on, and my job is to meet you where you currently are and help you move in the direction you want to go. Even if we don’t know where we’re going when we start and we take some detours along the way.
I have years of experience working with children, and I like to bring some silliness and fun into the space when I can. Life can be hard and scary but it doesn’t have to be all the time.
I have special interests in working with those who are dealing with parenting difficulties, neurodivergent issues, LGBTQ+ issues, grief and loss, trauma, spirituality issues, relational conflicts, and struggles in finding purpose or meaning in their lives. I am drawn to therapeutic techniques that take a strengths-based approach while also drawing some from techniques that involve building skills and creating experiences to help bridge the gap between knowing and feeling.
When not in the office, I enjoy spending time with my partner and our two cats, singing, playing video games, reading, and crocheting. I’m also working on my skills at bouldering and enjoy baking for special occasions.
