George Baltazar, MA, LADC

Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor & LPCC Trainee

Hi, I’m George!

I am a mental health therapist, divorced dad, and music lover on a mission to help people get and maintain mental wellness, develop personal insight, and enhance their quality of life.

People work with me for many reasons, including:
-Managing Anxiety or Stress: When feelings of anxiety or stress are overwhelming or interfere with daily life, I help people learn coping mechanisms and strategies to manage symptoms.

-Dealing with Depression: Persistent feelings of sadness or hopelessness can be a sign of depression. I help individuals understand the root causes of their depression and work through them.

-Navigating Life Transitions: Major life changes such as moving, changing jobs, or going through a divorce can be stressful and challenging. I provide support and strategies for managing these transitions.

-Improving Relationships: Whether it’s romantic, family, or work relationships, I can help improve communication skills, resolve conflicts, and foster healthier connections with others.

-Processing Trauma: Experiences of trauma can have long-lasting effects. I can help you work through traumatic events in a safe and supportive environment.

-Enhancing Self-Understanding: I help people better understand themselves, and their patterns of behavior, and work on personal growth and self-improvement.

-Addressing Addiction or Substance Abuse: Therapy can be an integral part of recovery for those dealing with addiction. I provide tools to understand and overcome substance abuse.

-Coping with Grief or Loss: The death of a loved one, loss of a job, or any significant loss can be difficult to process. I help people work through their grief.

-Improving Mental Focus and Concentration: Attention-related challenges can impact performance at work or school. I help individuals develop strategies to improve focus.

-Managing Chronic Illness or Pain: Living with chronic illness or pain can be mentally taxing. I help individuals cope with the emotional burden of chronic health issues.

Mental health is the cornerstone of our overall well-being, and it's my privilege to guide individuals on their journey toward healing and self-discovery.

With a Master's Degree in Addiction Studies from the Hazelden-Betty Ford Graduate School of Addiction Studies and licensure as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC), my expertise allows me to approach each client's journey with a depth of understanding that fosters healing.

My therapeutic approach is person-centered, rooted in the belief that each individual can overcome challenges and strive toward personal growth when given the right environment and tools.

When not helping others you will find me volunteering, kayaking, and listening to punk rock.
